My name is Chris Raines, aka Uber. I have been fishing waters of Michigan for as long as I can remember. I moved to the Ludington area nearly 14 years ago and fell in love with the local waters. I began fishing as many of the local streams, rivers and waterways as possible. I have tried them all and the Pere Marquette river has always called me back.
This unique piece of water offers virtually year round trophy hunting. You can hammer King salmon in the Fall. The Fall run of steelhead come in looking for easy food and forage on the eggs until the snow flies. Once the Winter settles in the steelhead action can get downright ridiculous. As soon as the Winter lets loose the Spring run of steelhead begin their migration upstream. When the steelhead spawn is in full swing, the hungry trout nose up to the gravels and begin sucking down steelhead eggs with reckless abandon. As the Spring rains raise the river levels to their highest point of the year we start throwing streamers and get shots at two foot long browns with regularity. Summer brings us full swing with some of the best dry fly hatches in the Midwest. We have Hendricksons, Gray Drakes, Hexaginia, Iso's, Sulfers, Caddis, Terrestrials and more!!!!! If that's not enough for you we drag mouse patterns around the river at night and crush some real pigs. If and when this isn't enough we can always try other techniques and other area rivers.
Come on up and enjoy some of the finest fishing opportunities this side of the Mississippi. I specialize in fly fishing. I enjoy taking clients that have never gone before, to those that have traveled and fished the World. If fly fishing is not your thing, I enjoy using hardware as well. In fact certain times of the year a Hot and Tot, Thunderstick or inline spinner is all that you need.
